grotesque caricature

My son says it looks grotesque.... which means its just right.....
Master Caricature Exaggerator, Jan Op De Beeck http://www.opdebeeck.com/ once said in an NCN seminar that one of his secrets to Exaggeration was in "drawing a funny head." The head should be able to form an interesting silhouette. I've been trying for ages to do that and am now beginning to understand a little bit with satisfying results. This is one of my most interesting pictures yet. I particularly love the negative space Ive created between the nose and the hair chin.... OWWW!!! I just broke my arm patting myself on the back!!! MEDIC!!!

You thought he was a DUCK! I love it!!! LOL! It's frustrating NOT to be able to take pictures of my victims as "evidence" but given the nature of what I'm doing, mainly drawing them on the "sneak" its impossible for me to come up to them and say, HEY! I just clowned you without you knowing it can I take a photo of ya and post it online?
New Yawkers are suspicious by nature, and If one is looking at me too hard and aware they're being observed, it makes for a bad picture and I abandon it and go on to someone else. I do have a good photographic memory. I do a very rough sketch of what I see, then refine it as I go along. Sometimes I'm lucky if they stay on for the entire ride, other times I have to get them quick and go on memory. It varies. The important thing when doing this is find out How I FEEL about the subject. and not primarily how they "objectively look" Getting their personality or "soul" is what's important.

too bad you didnt give me a hollar when you were up in the city. I wouldve hooked up with you so we could do some subwaysurfin. A LOT on New Yawkers have this "sleexy" look to em, expecially people in the village, and in the Rockaways, which has some of the most busted lookin white folks Ive seen in all the five boros ! LOL! must be all that sun and surf that does it.
